Cam Buckle Straps
Cam buckle straps are lighter-duty than ratchet straps and are commonly used for securing smaller loads. This lighter construction offers several advantages. Cam buckle straps provide increased flexibility. Because the webbing is typically thinner and more adaptable than heavy ratchet straps, they are better suited to securing unusually shaped items.
They are also less likely to cause damage to cargo. Without the large metal ratchet handle found on ratchet straps, there is less risk of denting or scratching delicate goods. In addition, because tension is applied manually rather than through a ratcheting mechanism, cam buckle straps are less likely to be over-tightened.
Another benefit is speed and simplicity, cam buckle straps are quick to use, securing a load simply involves threading the webbing through the buckle and pulling it tight, allowing loads to be restrained in a matter of seconds.
